I want to champion our personal experiences and shape them with color. Our transformations are worthy of note.
I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and began studying art at a young age. By age 8 I was exploring creative expression through colored pencils and watercolor. I earned my BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design (2007), where I specialized in video, film, and animation. In 2017 I joined Blockfort studios, where I was a resident artist. I have since relocated to Delaware, Ohio, where I work as an independent artist and instructor. My mediums include watercolor, digital paintings, and mixed media. My creative career has included graphic design, children’s book illustration, and film. I also teach creative meditation, a practice that combines mindfulness and art.
I have spent my career exploring the intersection of story and the human experience. A lifetime fascination with fairy tales, mythology, and historical stories became essential inspiration for my work. The exploration of my own narrative helped me push beyond personal and cultural boundaries.
Storytelling works in unison with my creative work. Believing that we are all drawn to personal symbols, my art captures the presence of icons and the metaphysical suspended in vivid color. The paintings I create invite serendipitous symbols to collide with lucid action. At its core, my work is a meditation of the essence of our own magic, and the ways we bind or expand our inherent forces.
